Self Portrait: Month Six

Can you believe that I am half way through this project?! Six months of self portraits complete - wow! This month I kept it super simple, wearing a dress that I sewed a few weeks ago and a nice straw hat. These photos were taken on a hill south of Elko B.C., only around 10 minutes from the US border! I fell in love with the brown grasses and large trees. There were mountains in the background that had been covered by smoke from some wild fires in the area. Jason and I spent the past weekend camping in this forest and had such a nice time re-charging and re-connecting with one another after a very busy few months.

What I feel most confident about in these photos is how I was feeling in the moment - tanned in my summer skin, fresh off the lake with beach waves and sand in my toes, basking in the 33 degree weather and warm sun. As much as this project is about body confidence, in a way it has also helped me with learning to appreciate simple moments and beautiful feelings.
